Skillet Bread / Stekepannebrød

A griddle was standard in most Norwegian homes in the old days. And bread like this would have been made on those and not in a skillet back then just like flatbread lefse, sveler and lomper.

  1. You’ve reminded me of when we visited Tante Anna many years ago in Farsund and she had us help her make potetskaker for supper, but not before testing whether the griddle was hot enough—by laying her callused hand flat in the pan!!! 🙂

    I love the effect of using the rough textured rolling pin – it makes them so pretty. I think I’ve seen them in shops somewhere, but now I know why they’re used I want one. Delicious sounding bread!
