Apple and Sauerkraut Sausage Skillet

A guick German type dinner recipe found in
“The Quick & Eary Armour Cookbook” published by
Benjamin Company-Rutledge Book in 1980Apple and Sauerkraut Sausage Skillet

Bratwürst, sauerkraut and apples. It doesn’t get much
more German than that.

1 lb bratwürst, cut in 1/2-inch pieces
1 27-oz. can sauerkraut, drained
1 cup chopped apple
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1/4 cup water
1/2 teaspoon caraway seed


Combine all ingredients in a skillet; cover. Simmer 30 minutes or until heated through. Serve with fresh white bread and real butter.
