Barbecue Marinated Chicken Drumsticks

Note: If you cook the drumsticks on a charcoal grill, the grid should be about 10 cm/4 inch above the coals. Cook 8-10 minutes on each side.

6-8 servings

12- 16 drumsticks
3 tablespoons tomato ketchup
1 tablespoon oil
1 tablespoon cider vinegar
1 tablespoon soy sauce
2 tablespoons honey
2 teaspoons Barbecue spices
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 tablespoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves


[1] Mix the sauce ingredients and brush the drumsticks with the sauce. Leave the drumsticks to soak for 30 minutes.

[2] Brush the grate with oil and place the drumsticks on it making sure they don’t touch each other. Cook on a medium hot grill 6-8 minutes on each side. Brush with extra sauce diluted with a little cider vinegar if necessary.

[3] Server the drumsticks with coleslaw or lettuce, tomato and cucumber salad and fresh rolls.
