7 ½ dl [1,6 pt] flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons cloves, ground
2 teaspoons cinnamon
2 teaspoons ginger, ground
5 dl [1 pt] sugar
1 bottle of beer, light or dark, 33 cl [0,7 pt]
Makes 2 cakes
 Butter and sprinkle two oblong bread moulds, ca. 10×30 cm / 4×12 in. Preheat the oven to 200° C / 390° F.
 Mix the flour, baking soda, cloves, cinnamon and ginger. Add sugar and egg. Pour in the beer and stir until smooth.
 Spread the batter in the prepared moulds and bake in the middle of oven for about 45 minutes. Check with a baking needle to see if the kakes are done.
 Let the cakes cool on a rack.
