Breaded Plaice with Tartar Sauce

Breaded plaice with juicy, delicious fish meat under a delicate crust and served with tartar sauce and a little crispy salad and a lemon slice. This is party food at everyday prices. Fresh or frozen everyone likes plaice.

4 servings
Cooking time: Approx. 30 min.

8 plaice fillets
3 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 whipped egg mixed with 1 tablespoon of water
1 dl [0.2pt] bread crumbs
Tartar sauce:
2 dl [0,4pt] mayonnaise
1 tablespoon finely chopped onion
3 tablespoons finely chopped pickled gherkins
2 tablespoons finely chopped chives


[1] Rinse the fillets quickly in cold water and wipe them with kitchen paper.

[2] Mix flour, salt and pepper. Turn the fillets in the mixture and shake off excess flour. Turn them in whipped ​​eggs and water and finally in bread crumbs. Let the fillets dry for approx. 10 minutes.

[3] Mix together the ingredients for the sauce.

[4] Warm butter and oil in a frying pan. Add the fillets and fry them for about 2 minutes on each side until golden brown.

[5] Serve the fillets on hot plates with the sauce, lemon wedges, rye bread and a little green salad.
