1/2 cup soft butter
1/4 cup sifted confectioners’ sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 cup sifted flour
1/8 tsp salt
1 qt ice cream
 Mix butter, confectioners’ sugar and vanilla thoroghly. Sift flour and salt together. Add to butter mixture and blend. Chill 30 to 45 minutes.
 Heat oven to 400 F (moderate hot). Pat dough evenly into ungreased 9 inch pie pan. Flute edge. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool. Just before serving, fill with ice cream and top as desired.
