Frankfurter Pie

Norwegians are crazy about sausages of any kind so that we got recipes here for frankfurter pie should in no way surprise anyone – Ted

4 servings

For the pie dough you need:
2 1/2 dl [0,5 pt] flour
50 g [1,75 oz] butter
1 egg
2 tablespoons of water
For the filling you need:
4 tomatoes in slices
1 small pack of frozen broccoli
6-8 frankfurters cut as shown in the picture
3 eggs
2 dl [0,4 pt] milk
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1/2 teaspoon oregano


[1] Mix the butter and flour in a bowl. Then stir in the egg and water to make a dough. Let the dough rest in the fridge for half an hour.

[2] Cover the bottom and sides of the mould with dough  and bake the shell for 10 minutes at 225 C / 435 F. Put the frankfurters, tomatoes and broccoli in the pie shell. Whisk eggs, milk and spices together and pour it into the pie shell. Bake in the oven for about 20 minutes at 225 C / 435 F.
