Frankfurters in Lager

Frankfurters are very popular in Norway, both among children and grownups, but they are not often served as fancy as in this recipe. It will take a little time, but it will be worth it, believe me – Ted

Ingredients
1 bottle of lager
12 frankfurters
1 lemon
1 piece of ginger
1/2 onion
1 bay leaf
4 teaspoon allspice
water
hotdog buns
Trimmings 1
1 onion, chopped
4 tablespoons sour cream
2 tablespoons mustard
Trimmings 2
1 mango
1 lime
1 tbsp honey
1/2 red chili

Approach

[1] Put beer, lemon, ginger, onions and spices in a saucepan and boil for 5 minutes.

[2] Add the sausages and pour in the water. Let the frankfurters cook over low heat until hot. The water/lager should not boil after the frankfurters have been added.

[3] Serve with hotdog buns.

Trimmings 1: Chop and fry the onions in butter till they get shiny. Stir in sour cream and mustard, and refrigerate.

Trimmings 2: Put a ripe mango, juice and zest of a lime, honey and chopped chili in a food processor and puls 6–7 times.
