A fryingpan or griddle bread recipe found on koket.se
Fryingpan bread, or “stompa” as it is also called,
usually Swedish children’s favourite between meals snack.
2 teaspoons of fennel seeds, whole
2 tsp anise seeds, whole
13 dl [2,6 pt] rye flour
2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking soda
5 dl [1 pt] semi skimmed milk
1.5 dl [0,3 pt] golden syrup, Lyles or similar
 Grind fennel and anise seeds in a mortar. Mix fennel seeds, anise, rye flour, salt and bicarbonate.
 Add mixed milk and syrup to the flour mixture and knead into a dough. Divide the dough into 20 pieces, roll them out into round bread and prick them with a fork.
 Fry the bread a few minutes on each side on medium heat in a dry frying pan or on a griddle, . They should not get too dark. Allow to cool on a grid.
