Greek Meatballs

Preparation time: 15 min.
Cooking time: 8-10 min.
Can be frozen.

1 slice white bread without crust
1/2 dl [0,1 pt] broth
1 small onion
500 g [1,1 lb] ground lamb
1 egg
1-2 cloves crushed garlic
1 teaspoon dried mint
1/4 teaspoon oregano
1-1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
butter and/or oil for frying


[1] Crumble the white bread and let it soak in the broth for about 5 min. Stir in the minced lamb, eggs, crushed garlic, grated onions and spices an continue stiring until you have a smooth and supple farce.

[2] Chape the farce into 20 smooth, round, small balls. Roll them in a little flour and fry them nicely brown in oil and/or butter. Turn down the heat a little and fry the balls for another 3 min. Shake the pan a little so the balls  retain their round shape.

[3] Serve with whole-grain bread or rolls and a salad with tomatoes, cucumber and black olives with oil / vinegar dressing.
