Hot Mulled Cider

1,6 pint / 7,5 dl cider
0,4 pint / 2 dl water
0,15 pint / 3/4 dl Demerara sugar
1 pinch of salt
1 teaspoon allspice
1 teaspoon whole cloves
1 cinnamon stick
1 pinch nutmeg
1 star anise

How to:
Boil water, sugar, salt, allspice, cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg and star anise to a syrup. Let it boil until half of the liquid remains, about 20 minutes. Strain away the spices.

Pour the syrup and cider in a saucepan. Heat but do not boil. Serve in mugs like  mulled wine.
