Crush juniper lightly in a mortar and put them in a bottle or a jar. You can of course use multiple smaller bottles if you wish.
Pour vodka over the juniper berries, and put a tight cork or lid on the bottle or jars.
Strain away the berries through a cloth after a week’s time. Pour liquor back on the bottle or jar and replace the cork or lid.
Tip: Since juniper oil is an important element in this liquor don’t use coffee filters for straining. The juniper liquor is ready for drinking, but gets better after a few months of storage. The taste becomes more balanced and the liquor becomes clearer in colour.
