400 g [0,9 lb] beef
400 g [0,9 lb] mutton
400 g [0,9 lb] pork
15 g [0,5 oz] salt

2 bay leaves
 Cut the meat into slices and put them in thick-bottomed heat-proof saucepan or casserole. Place the fattest pieces on top. Add salt, onion, pepper and bay leaf. Pour in hot water until the meat is covered. Add the lid and let the saucepan stand in the oven about 2 hours at 175-180° C / 245-355° F
 Remove the lid and let the saucepan stand in the oven till the water has evaporated and the top meat made is brown.
 Server the meat straight from the pan with boiled potatoes and dark rye bread.
