Looking for a Christmas cake that is easy to make?
Then these cinnamon sticks are just the thing for you!
The recipe gives about 40 sticks
200 g [7 oz] butter
100 g [3,5 oz] icing sugar
300 g [10,5 oz] flour
1 egg yolk
1 egg white
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
 Set the oven to 180° C / 355° F.
 Stir butter and icing sugar white and airy. Add the flour and egg yolk and stir it quickly into a dough.
 Roll the dough into finger thick sausages and cut them into about 5 cm / 2 in long sticks.
 Roll the sticks first in egg white and then in a mixture of sugar and ground cinnamon.
 Bake the sticks for about 10 minutes in the middle of the oven.
Chef’s tip: Icing sugar should not be replaced with sugar, because then the dough won’t come together well.
