This simple recipe provides two tasty loaves that are nice both to give away and serve yourself. Wrap them in nice paper and decorate with a nice bow. A nice gift that is guaranteed to be well received.

Tip: Yeast baking is always best fresh out of the oven, but it’s also suitable for freezing. Make a large portion if you have room for a couple in the freezer.

50 g [1,75 oz] yeast
2 teaspoons honey
0.4 l skimmed cultured milk or light yogurt
2 tablespoons melted butter
150 g [5,3 oz] walnuts
150 g [5,3 oz] hazelnuts
500 g [1,1 lb] flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar
1 dl [0,2 pt] sesame seeds
1 whipped egg


[1] Set the oven to 200° C / 390° F.

[2] Roughly chop the nuts. Melt butter and mix with milk/yogurt. Stir the yeast into the lukewarm milk mixture.

[3] Add salt, sugar, flour, honey, nuts and sesame seeds and work the dough even and smooth. Let it rise to double size.

[4] Form two loaves of bread and leave them to rise in a warm place for about  20 minutes.

[5] Brush with whipped egg and bake the bread on the bottom shelf for about 35 minutes. Cool on a rack.
