Old-fashioned Norwegian Apple Pie

Delicious hot apple pie. With ready-made puff pastry sheets, it’s easy to make a delicious apple pie of the delicious “grandma” variety.

2 sheets of puff pastry
6 tart apples
3 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons of raisins
1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon


[1] Let the puff pastry sheets thaw for 15 minutes.

[2] While the puff pastry thaws, peel the apples. Cut them into thin wedge and cut away the core section from each wedge.

[3] Place the apple wedges in a rectangular non-stickshape mould(about 18×18 cm / 7×7 inch). Drizzle the apples with the sugar, raisins and cinnamon.

[4] Place the puff pastry sheets a little overlapping and roll them out to fitt the mould.

[5] Set the oven to 175 C / 345 F .

[6] Place the puff pastry on top of the apples. Let it rest for 15 minutes before you do, otherwise the lid may shrink in the oven. Prick the pastry with a fork.

[7] Bake in the middle of the oven for about 30 minutes.

[8] Serve the pie with whipped cream, custard or vanilla ice cream.
