Orange Cream Custard

A dessert recipe found in “Each Taste a Treat –
97 Delicious Recipes”  published by
Borden’s Condenced Milk Company in 1929

Orange Cream Custard

6 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons grated orange rind
Juice of 2 oranges
2 egg yolks
1/2 cup heavy cream for whipping
1 cup heavy cream


Dissolve sugar in orange juice; add orange rind; egg yolks well beaten, and cream, and cook in double boiler, stirring constantly until it begins to thicken. Chill and serve in glass cups, with whipped cream.
