Peanut Toffees

Peanut toffees taste both salty and sweet in an unbeatable combination. If you got Golden Syrup, peanut butter and salty crackers, you have the most important ingredients in this recipe.

1 tin of Golden Syrup (Lyle’s or similar)
1 jar of peanut butter
1 teaspoon of vanilla sugar / vanilla
1 pack of salty crackers
1 handful of peanuts

This is what you do

[1] Melt the syrup with the peanut butter. Add vanilla sugar / vanilla. It doesn’t need to boil – just heat it up until the syrup and peanut butter has turned into a smooth mixture.

[2] Crush the crackers into a cake mould with baking paper in the bottom. Pour the hot syrup/peanut butter mixture over the crushed crackers and mix it all with a spatula.

[3] Chop peanuts and sprinkle them over the toffee mixture while still lukewarm. Cool.

[4] When the mass has been in the refrigerator for a couple of hours, you can cut it into mouthful-sized pieces.

Tip: The peanut toffees can be eaten as they are, or you can add melted chocolate on top of the toffee mass before cutting it into pieces.
