Ingredients:
2,6 lb. / 1.2 kg lamb suitable for stews
4 carrots
2,2 lb. / 1 kg cabbage
8 potatoes
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons pepper, whole
1,2 pt. / 6 dl water
flatbread
4 servings
Procedure:
[1] Cut the meat into serving pieces.
[2] Peel the potatoes and carrots and cut them into large cubes.
[3] Cut the cabbage in large wedges.
[4] Put meat, potatoes, carrots and cabbage layered in a saucepan with salt and pepper between layers.
[5] Pour in the water.
[6] Let the dish simmer under lid until everything is tender and the potatoes begin to mash up, ca. 1 1/2 -2 hours.
Server with flatbread or wholemeal rolls.
I have never tried this dish, but certainly will. and perhaps add some fresh rosemary 🙂
