225 g/8_oz milk chocolate
1/2 cup/125 g/4 oz butter
scant 1/4 cup/50 g/2 oz golden syrup (or corn syrup)
1/3 cup/50 g/2 oz raisíns, soaked overnight in a little rum
1/2 cup/50 g/2 oz Brazil nuts, roughly chopped
1/4 cup/50 g/2 oz glacé cherries, roughly chopped
2 cups/225 g/8 oz digestive biscuits (Graham wafers), crushed

 Put chocolate, butter and golden syrup into a bowl over a pan of hot water.
 When the chocolate has melted, stir in the raisins, nuts and cherries.
 Add the biscuits and mix well together.
 Line a 450g/1-lb loaf pan. Press the mixture into the pan.
 Chill for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
 Turn out and decorate with glacé cherries and Brazil nuts.
