Stuffed Rolls

A quick recipe found in  “Mat for Travle” (Food for People in a Hury) utgitt av Hjemmets Kokebokklubb i 1982
Stuffed Rolls

Preparation: 5 min.
Cooking time: 12-15 min.
Oven temperature: 225° C / 435° F
Can be frozen.

300-400 g [0,65-0,9 lb] thick meat sauce *
8 rolls
1 dl [0,2 pt] grated cheese

* leftover from a spaghetti dinner for example.


[1] Cut a lid of the rolls and dig out most of the soft content. The lid and contant can be roasted in the oven, grated and used for breading later.

[2] Fill the rolls with the meat sauce, sprinkle with cheese and gratinate them in the oven for about 12 min. or as specified. The rolls can be wrapped in foil to prevent i from getting burnt, but leave it open at the top so that the cheese melts.

Server the stuffed rolls as a lunch or an evening meal with a mixed green salad as an accessory.
