Scandinavian Seafood Stew / Skandinavisk Sjømatstuing

The smell of this seafood stew as it simmers on the stove will bring
back every outing you’ve ever had to the sea. Tear into the rustic
bread, dip a piece in the creamy white wine sauce and let the juice
dribble down your chin.

This soup is very filling and as an appetizer it is enough for 6-8

000_fiskeboller_crThis dish was staple on the dinner table when I was a kid and I loved it. Now  a days you never hear anyone mentioning it. I walk by tins of the classic ‘Vesterålen Fiskeboller’ almost everyday at my local grocers, but I never buy one, so I guess I’m like the rest of us Norwegians. Fish balls are not fancy enough any more.

And that’s a pity, because the dish I post recipes for here is actually stil a very tasty dish. But it is for homemade fish balls and homemade always taste better than stuff picked out of a tin of course –Ted 😉
