Pjalt, traditional food from Røros are round cakes that you cook on a griddle or in a dry frying pan. They are similar to ‘sveler’ or thick lefse, but are made of dough you roll out and cut out cakes around a small plate.
These round crispbread are both wholesome, delicious and easy to make with wheat and whole wheat. They are great for breakfast with your favourite spread and keeps you feeling nice and full until lunch.
Stump tastes great with butter and a drizzle of sugar, Norwegian brown cheese or whatever else you might fancy. These small lefse goes well with tea or coffee, but there is a lot of food in each so you want be able to eat all that many in one sitting.
