The Vicarage’s Spice Cake

Baking temperature 175° C / 345° F , hot air 175° C / 345° F

Ingredients
100 g [3,5 oz] of butter or margarine
2 eggs
200 g [7 oz]  (2 1/4 dl / 0,45 pt) sugar
1 1/2 dl [0,3 pt] sour cream
1 1/2 teaspoon of ground ginger
1 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
175 g [6,2 oz] (3 dl / 0,6 pt) flour
2 teaspoons baking soda

Method

[1] Butter and sprinkle an oblong mould or a ring mould, about 1 1/2 liter / 3 pt.

[2] Melt and cool the butter.

[3] Whip egg and sugar light and fluffy. Add sour cream, butter, spices and flour mixed with baking soda.

[4] Pour the batter into the mould. Bake on the bottom shelf in the oven about 45 min.
