Indulge in a classic everyday Norwegian dessert when you feel like feeding your sweet tooth after the meatballs or fish patties. This fruit porridge is made with apples and plums, but there is room for variations here!

Ingredients
1/2 kg [1 lb] apples
1/4 kg [0,5 lb] yellow plums
1/2 liter [1 pt] water
3/4 dl [0,15 dl] sugar
A handfull of raisins
about 1 1/2 tablespoons of potato starch
stirred in a little cold water

This is what you do

[1] Peel the apples and remove the kernels. Cut them into wedges.

[2] Put the plums in boiling water until the skin curls. Then place them in cold water. Remove the skin. Cut the plums in two and remove the stones.

[3] Cook the apples tender in the water mixed with the sugar. Add the plums and raisins and boil for another 5 minutes.

[4] Remove the saucepan from the heat. Add the potato starch in a thin jet and stir it into the porridge. Pour the porridge into a serving bowl. Sprinkle some sugar on top to prevent a skin from forming. Cool the porridge quickly.

[5] Serve the fruit porridge with cold milk.
