Wholemeal Waffles with Oats

You do not have to bring a waffle iron on camping. You can fry the waffles on the camp fire in the frying pan.

0.5 liter [1 pt] kefir
0.5 liter [1 pt] full fat milk
2 dl [0,4 pt] oats
2 dl [0,4 pt] whole meal wheat flour
2 dl [0,4 pt] flour
3 eggs
60 g [2 oz] melted butter
60 g [2 oz] sugar
3 tablespoon sour cream

This is what you do

Before the trip: Mix everything and let the batter swell for about 1 hour. If the batter seems too thick you can just add a little extra milk. Store in an empty milk carton or inn a few empty soda bottles.

By the camp fire: Fry the waffles in a frying pan on the  camp fire or on a camp cooker. You can buy waffle irons that can be used on camp fires, so it is up to you if you feel like carrying one.

Tip: Serve the waffles with Norwegian brown cheese, whipped cream or/and cranberry jam.
