Gaelic Truffles / Galliske Trøfler

A delicious sweets recipe found in
“Harrods Cookery Book” published in 1985

These truffles may be made with Scotch or Irish whiskey. Roll them
in chopped walnuts, confectioners’ sugar, cocoa powder, grated chocolate or chocolate sprinkles. Homemade truffles make an
ideal  gift when presented in a pretty box.

  1. Shopped in Harrod’s once – what an experience. Back then lots of floors! Use to make truffles as they are quick, easy and you can make them to your taste. Happy FF!

Bought some calligraphic paper there once, when I was studying calligraphy and hand lettering in York. And the Harrods chopping bag of course, so everyone could see I’ve been chopping there 😀

  2. Just printed the recipe – there’s whiskey in those truffles. I just happen to have Four Roses whiskey – a blend of four bourbons.
